It was part of an overall package for news and movie presentations that featured a futuristic New York City. As we celebrate Felix Unger Day at the WPIX Archives, we thought we'd show you the evolution of our "Odd Couple" next bumpers, from the late 1970s to the late 1980s. The first one dates to the later 1970s and is a simple slide; the second one was introduced in 1982 and features our first animated next bumpers (there's one we used in between — a slide — that we don't have handy); the third one was first shown in 1983; and the final one was rolled out in 1986.
