However, daffodils can sometimes be replanted after they've yellowed. Simply remove the flowers and plant them directly into the ground. How to layer spring bulbs Always start with the latest flowering spring bulbs, that’s your alliums and late flowering irises. These should be around 6-10 inches deep. Then your mid season bulbs. Muscari, daffodils and hyacinths at a depth of about 4-6 inches.
