I use a shallow open face cut for the front of my hinge. Then I bore in to the tree cutting up to the back side of the open face to create a hinge. I will bore out the rest of the tree finding where my bore cut came out in between the root flares so I can line my saw up to cut the far side of the tree. Then using the root flares as release points I will release them in a manner that helps swing the weight of the tree to help it take the hinge. I show my stump at the end | Boys In The Woods
