Nearly 1,000 CSX Engineering team members from across our 26-state network traveled to Jacksonville, FL, to participate in annual training sessions last week. CSX Senior Vice President of Operations Ricky Johnson and CSX Vice President of Engineering Carl Walker, along with other company leaders, spoke to the #ONECSX team to review safety protocols, track maintenance priorities and other topics, all to help ensure our railroad continues to operate safely and reliably to meet our customers’ needs

The CSX Responder Incident Training (RIT) program is an integral part of our commitment to safety, helping us build relationships with and train the first responders who serve the communities where we operate. Last year alone, CSX hosted 40 events across 35 cities along our network, training nearly 4,000 first responders to safely respond to potential rail emergencies through traditional, virtual, and hands-on RIT train exercises – and we look forward to hosting the many sessions already planned

CSX’s newest heritage locomotive commemorates the proud history of the Western Maryland Railway, which formed in 1852! The Western Maryland was a small but mighty railroad that hauled coal and freight in Maryland, West Virginia and Pennsylvania before merging with the B&O and C&O to eventually become part of CSX as we know it today.
