Maximizing corn silage quality by monitoring dry matter

Corn silage is feed made from the whole corn plant. It is chopped by the machine shown in the picture, and blown into the wagon it's pulling. The wagons are emptied into either a silo, upright or bunker, or bags (pictured). The plant is chopped at 65 to 68% moisture, ideally, for proper fermentation. Most dairy farms today use corn silage for a major part of their cows rations, it has a lot of energy, a decent amount of protein and is pretty digestable and.....cows love it!! Thank you Kenny Koch
