One of my favorite vocal exercises to teach and to use is what I call "Aliens." It's a silly term to refer to formant tuning or overtone singing. Aliens can help you find the sweet spot of your voice. When you're able to tune your vocal tract to a harmonic, it focuses your voice in a way that feels easy on the throat and gets very resonant for the audience.
