Panicle hydrangeas like limelights, bobos, quickfire and others, need sun and can withstand quite a bit. They are also cold tolerant (hardiness zones 3-8) so they are more versatile than a pesky macrophylla/Big Leaf type (the divas). The bad news is that if you don’t have enough light they will not thrive. The light conditions may not be sufficient here but pruning it way back will at least give it a chance to get more full.
