Syllable division with 3 or more syllable words! Just repeat the process! 1. Find and label the first 2 vowels 2. Draw a bridge to connect the vowels 3. Label the consonants between the vowels 4. Divide according to one of these patterns: vc|cv, v|cv, vc|v, v|v 5. Identify the syllable types (open/closed or magic-e) 6. Sound out each syllable using the syllable type to determine the vowel sound REMEMBER: open syllables don’t have a consonant after the vowel so it says it’s NAME (long vowel sound
