*Tiling Tips for Beginners* 1. Start with a clean, smooth surface! No body likes prep work, but when it comes to tile, starting with a smooth surface that is free of dust is critical! If you have fresh drywall, prime it. 2. Try using a sticky mat product (such as SimpleMat or MuscleBound) instead of thinset.
