El Festival del nacimiento del Sol inconquistado (Dies Natalis Solis Invicti) indicaba que nacía un nuevo sol que vencía a la oscuridad y que a partir del final del solsticio de invierno (21 de diciembre) los días iban a hacerse más largos.
