Sewing Tip Day 19: Try a corded buttonhole when using thicker fabrics, and for a little extra stability! Hook your cord to the back of the 1-Step Buttonhole Foot, sew the buttonhole, and finish by pulling the cord snug. Then, use a needle to thread the cord to the back of your fabric and tie it off to finish. That's it; now you've got an extra-tough buttonhole! | Singer Sewing

One of the easiest ways to learn about your new sewing machine is to create a stitch sampler. Sew all the different stitches in multiple lengths and widths, record each setting, and keep them together by your machine.
