The annual #FloridaPythonChallenge takes place to help cut down the Burmese python population because there are SO many of these invasive snakes in the state. 🐍 ‼️ Why are they a problem? ➡️ The massive snakes don't have many predators, but they do have a lot of prey—dozens of species crucial to the Florida ecosystem, including endangered Key Large wood rats, marsh rabbits, foxes, birds, even iguanas, some of which have become near non-existent in areas the pythons have embedded themselves. | W
